Class 5 went to the Priory Buddhist Centre to use their woods for an environmental activity.
Sadly our start was delayed due to very bad weather but as soon as it brightened up we were off on our way.
The children learned how to lead a group safely; to identify the many types of trees from their leaves; to identify the effects of trampling on plant growth and much much more!
All the children showed great respect for the calm atmosphere that seemed to blanket the woods!
Our environmental sculptures were fabulous!
They may even still be there......
Class 5 have had a great time at orienteering.
All the children tried hard to complete the courses and improve their individual times.
They looked very smart in their school kit!
Everyone was well behaved and supportive of each other.
I was very proud of them all.
Year 5 are now into their final few weeks before they take on the demands of year 6 and future SATs.
It is very important for each child to maintain their focus on learning so that they are as well prepared for their transition as they can possibly be.
