This term we have been learning about The British Isles and Animals including Humans.
In Maths, we are currently learning about 2D and 3D shapes, telling the time to the nearest quarter hour intervals or to the nearest 5 minutes and using the inverse to solve additions and subtractions.
Recently, in English, we have been looking at using adjectives to give more detail. The children have been working really hard and have produced some wonderful stories, character descriptions and setting descriptions! Also we have been looking at using commas to list and using apostrophes for contracted form (e.g. is not > isn't).
If you ever have any questions or would like to talk about your child's learning, please feel free to contact me.
Reading at home is essential for your child's development and ability to learn. Children who read regularly at home are much more likely to make better progress than those who don't. To support your child, please listen to them read regularly (even if it is for just 5 minutes!)
Spellings will be given to your child each Tuesday. It is important that your child reads through these and practises them. This will help their reading and writing skills a lot.
Our P.E. sessions are Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. The Tuesday morning session will be swimming lessons for the school year. This half term we are developing our agility, balance and coordination in Gymnastics sessions on Thursday afternoons.
All children must wear a change of clothing for P.E. Please ensure your child has their kit every day to cater for timetable changes. Please name all clothing and use a soft bag to store P.E. clothes.
- Our P.E. kit is as follows:
- Black shorts
